Celebrating Success: Trenholm State’s Spring Commencement

Trenholm State Community College recently celebrated the achievements of its graduating class at the Spring Commencement held on Thursday, May 9, at the Multiplex at Crampton Bowl. This class was one of the largest classes, with over 300 certificates and degrees conferred.

Over 200 graduates participated in the ceremony, receiving certificates and/or associate degrees from various divisions, including Health Sciences, Academic/Transfer, and Career & Technical Education. Notably, among the graduating cohort were 52 students who attained their non-traditional high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, along with 45 dual-enrollment students from regional schools. These students have earned credentials in fields ranging from medical assisting to graphic design, welding to culinary arts, showcasing the diverse educational pathways offered by Trenholm State.

President Kemba Chambers expressed pride in the graduates’ accomplishments, emphasizing the college’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

“The commencement ceremony is a testament to the College’s commitment to academic excellence and our dedication to the success of our students. We are proud of all the hard work that these graduates have done to achieve their goals,” President Chambers remarked.

Highlighting the diversity of student experiences, this year’s commencement featured two student speakers, Mr. Iverson White and Mr. Thaddaus Sneed, Jr. White, a major in Automotive Technology, and Sneed, a graduate in Computer Information Systems Support, shared their firsthand insights into their Trenholm State experiences. Their speeches underscored how the college’s educational opportunities have empowered them to achieve remarkable success.

The Spring Commencement not only marks the culmination of academic journeys but also signifies the beginning of new chapters for its graduates, equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive in their chosen fields.
