New Tutors Bring Fresh Energy to Trenholm State Community College

Trenholm State Community College is excited to welcome three new tutors, LaTrell Huitt, Matthew Kemp, and Autumn Thomas—who are ready to make a significant impact on our students. Each brings unique skills and a passion for education, helping learners achieve their academic goals.

LaTrell Huitt focuses on science tutoring, particularly biology and chemistry, and can assist with the Intro, Principles, and Microbiology courses/labs offered in the biology department. Outside of Biology and Chemistry, Mr. Huitt can also assist with math fundamentals. Mr. Huitt hold a B.S. in Molecular Biology (2023) and a M.S. in Biology (2024).

Matthew Kemp specializes in writing and communication, assisting students in refining their essays, and general study skills. With several years of experience teaching college English classes and tutoring, as well as holding a master’s degree in English and starting his journey at a community college, Mr. Kemp’s passion is rooted in helping students, and is excited to get started.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in English in 2022, Autumn Thomas has spent the past three years teaching English in South Korea. Ms. Thomas is eager to assist our students with all English needs, including crafting clear, persuasive essays, refining research skills, and helping to improve overall English writing abilities.
